Important developmental processes in the embryo begin in the first weeks of pregnancy, often before a woman is aware she is pregnant. Therefore, it is important to ensure an adequate supply of, for example, folic acid as soon as you start trying to conceive. Zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction.
- Women during pregnancy
The need for various vitamins, minerals and trace elements increases, especially in the second half of pregnancy. Folate contributes to the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy. - Women who are breastfeeding
The need for certain micronutrients also remains high after giving birth. Calcium and vitamin D are needed for healthy growth and bone development in children, iron contributes to normal cognitive development, and iodine contributes to normal growth in children.
Take 2 tablets daily with a little liquid.

Why should you start taking dietary supplements as soon as you decide to try to conceive?
A good supply of nutrients is important as soon as you start trying to conceive. Zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction. In addition, important developmental processes take place in the first three to four weeks of the embryo’s life, i.e. even before the expectant mother is aware that she is pregnant. The expectant mother should therefore ensure an optimal supply of micronutrients before she gets pregnant so that she can prepare her body in the best possible way for an upcoming pregnancy.
How is Burgerstein Schwangerschaft & Stillzeit taken?
Take 2 tablets a day with a little liquid, preferably with or shortly after a meal. The daily dose (2 tablets) can be taken all at once or divided into two doses.
Why does Burgerstein Schwangerschaft & Stillzeit contain more iron than other multivitamin preparations?
Iron needs increase significantly during pregnancy. Iron is important for both mother and child as it contributes to the normal production of red blood cells and haemoglobin, promotes the normal cognitive development of children, and reduces tiredness and fatigue.

Why does Burgerstein Schwangerschaft & Stillzeit contain no omega-3 fatty acids?
Omega-3 fatty acids, e.g. DHA and EPA, are not part of Burgerstein Schwangerschaft & Stillzeit. Separate supplementation enables an individual selection of the omega-3 source, for example from fish oil (e.g. Burgerstein Omega-3 DHA) or algae oil (e.g. Burgerstein Omega-3 vegan), as well as the flexible adaptation of the daily dose to personal needs.
How much DHA is recommended during pregnancy?
During pregnancy and when breastfeeding, a daily intake of 200 mg DHA is recommended in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids (250 mg DHA and EPA) for adults. This additional intake contributes to the normal development of the brain and eyes of the foetus and of the breastfeeding infant.
Can Burgerstein Schwangerschaft & Stillzeit be combined with other products?
Burgerstein Schwangerschaft & Stillzeit is a comprehensive multivitamin and mineral supplement. Therefore, it should not be taken with other multivitamin preparations. However, a targeted combination with individual micronutrients such as omega-3 DHA can be a good option.
